Beer Butt Chicken

Makes one whole chicken

Rinse inside and out of chicken; pat dry. Rub with any spices you have, inside and out of chicken
open a can of beer - drink a fourth of can.

This part can be tricky and messy: put a few sprigs of fresh herbs in beer can - rosemary, thyme, sage. Hold chicken upright and shove open beer can up the "opening."

Place upright on the grill and roast until done - I use a meat thermometer. If the chicken gets "tipsy" roll up a ring of reynolds wrap and tuck around it. The cooked chicken can rest a while after it is done. Be careful pulling out the beer can if it is hot.
