Chocolate Peppermint Hearts


Makes: 38

2 x 240g blocks white eating chocolate, chopped
1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon peppermint essence
2 drops green food colouring


Place chocolate and oil in a large heatproof bowl. Place bowl over a pan of simmering water and stir over heat until chocolate is melted and mixture is combined. Remove from heat and stir in essence. Add food colouring and stir gently until combined. Spoon mixture into 4cm heart-shaped chocolate moulds. Tap moulds gently to remove any air bubbles from chocolate. Refrigerate overnight or until set. Gently turn moulds onto a board to release hearts. Transfer to an airtight container and layer between sheets of baking paper. Refrigerate until required.
